Dodo is a telecommunications company in Australia that offers a wide range of services and products for both residential and business customers. Dodo is currently the only telecommunications company that provides Pre-Paid Mobile Wireless broadband. Customers can pre-purchase blocks of time instead of choosing to get a data plan. This allows users the freedom to browse as much as they want for specific periods of time rather than using up the data limits set by the service.
ADSL
Dodo’s ADSL service comes with a bundled home phone line. This is the best option for residences and businesses that need to be connected as much as possible. Contracts on the ADSL plan are available with 12 or 24 month minimum terms. An option to take on a no term contract is also available, with a service set-up fee of $99, where this service is free when you sign up for the 24-month contract.
ADSL2+ Unlimited Broadband
Dodo boasts an unlimited broadband service on ADSL2+. Dodo claims to have no shaping for their service, thereby giving their customers the full speed that they signed up for, where other ISPs can often decrease the speed of their customers’ connections during peak periods. These packages are ideal for heavy internet users, such as those who use the connection for their business.
A package for unlimited ADSL2+ bundled with a home phone line starts at $39.90 per month.
Naked DSL
Dodo also provides Naked DSL service to customers. Naked DSL is ADSL technology that uses a regular phone line without you having to pay for home phone line rental. It’s a great option for customers who do not use their home phones, saving them money on their internet bill month. Customers can also opt to package a Naked DSL with a Dodo Mobile service to boost their savings.
This is a great option for users who are often on the go and need to be constantly connected through mobile communication.
Naked DSL prices start at $24.90 per month for plans with mobile service. Naked DSL without mobile service starts at $27.90.
The following are additional features of the broadband services:
- Free backup dial-up connection. This service can be used anywhere around the country in areas where broadband may not be available.
- Free static IP address for a more reliable connection.
- 30 MB of online space for personal websites.
- Additional anti-spam service for $1.90 each month.
Both services are on a 24-month contract. Note that both services have on-peak and off-peak hours. Data in excess of the chosen monthly plan is charged 10c per MB until the maximum plan cost is reached. Users can purchase additional data blocks if the maximum is reached to be able to continue the service.
Wireless Broadband
Dodo offers a monthly plan for wireless broadband as well as several prepaid plans that fit any budget. When you choose any 24-month service plan you receive a free Pendo Pad tablet device.
Wireless broadband prices start at $9.90 per month with a data allowance of 500 MB. Excess data is charged with 10c per MB and caps at a maximum cost of $99 per month. Any unused data for the month will roll over to the next month.
Wireless broadband customers can opt to get the starter pack or the SIM only starter pack. The starter pack gives customers the option to choose a Pendo Pad, a 3G HSDPA USB modem and router or Dodo’s MyZone service. The SIM only starter pack includes only Dodo Postpaid Mobile Broadband enabled SIM with no bonus access.
Prepaid Wireless Broadband
With Dodo’s prepaid wireless broadband, users can choose to purchase specific usage blocks at affordable rates. The basic usage block of 250 MB to 500 MB data costs $10 and is valid for 30 days. Users can also opt to purchase time rather than data with this service. Instead of the data limit, they can get 10 to 20 hours of use at $10, again valid for 30 days.
Customers can pick from two starter packs. The Dodo AL300 3G Mobile Wireless Broadband Kit with SIM includes one 3G HSDPA USB Modem with enabled Dodo Prepaid Mobile Broadband worth $49. It comes with 250 MB to 500 MB per month for 12 months.
The Mobile Broadband SIM only starter pack comes only with the SIM card and has no included bonus access.
