TPG IPTV is an innovative service that allows you to watch selected television channels directly on your PC or Notebook, without the need for a separate set top box. These TV channels are delivered directly through your TPG ADSL2+ modem. TPG ADSL2+ modems are now available for purchase, pre-configured for IPTV.

At selected IPTV-enabled exchanges, TPG is now offering its customers a free IPTV trial with their ADSL2+ broadband connections.

2. Will I need a compatible ADSL2+ modem?

TPG recommends an ADSL2+ modem.

In order to enjoy IPTV in Australia, you may purchase one of the modems which are pre-configured for IPTV. These are supplied by TPG:

In order to enjoy IPTV in Australia, it is also recommended that your computer has a Pentium 4 2Ghz CPU or equivalent, at the minimum. You should also have at least 128Mb RAM.

Currently, the TPG IPTV service cannot be transmitted via a wireless signal. If you would like to enjoy TPG IPTV, you will need to connect your PC or laptop to the modem Ethernet port. Wireless connectivity is a feature of the initial IPTV offering that TPG hopes to offer in later offerings of its IPTV service.

What is the picture quality of TPG IPTV like?

The picture quality of TPG IPTV is very high and much better than the average quality of video normally found on Internet streaming sites. Some of the videos are presented in High Definition resolution quality when you enjoy ADSL2+ speeds of over 5.5Mbps.

Will I always be able to enjoy TPG IPTV?

The actual speed of your broadband connection depends on a number of factors, including distance from the local phone exchange, the quality of your phone’s copper line, cabling and equipment. Availability of IPTV in Australia depends on these factors.

Will IPTV work on an Apple Mac Computer?
