TPG ADSL Computer System Requirements
If you are interested in obtaining Internet from TPG, there are some minimum system requirements that need to be met. There are minimum requirements for both PC and Mac users. Read on to learn about these requirements.
If you are interesting in obtaining Internet from TPG, there are some minimum TPG system requirements that must be met.
If you are using a PC, the minimum specifications in terms of TPG system requirements are:
- Processor: Intel Pentium 166 MHz
- RAM: 64MB for Win 98 / NT
- Hard Disk Space: 1GB is required for a new system; alternatively 100MB is required for just the modem software
- Video Memory: 4MB
- Graphics: AGP
- Diskette Drive: 3.6″ 1.44MB
- Operating System: Windows 98 2nd Ed/ Windows NT 4.0/Windows 2000/Windows XP
- Standard requirements: A standard mouse and keyboard are required. A standard serial port is also required. A USB Port is required for using a USB modem. A standard Parallel Port is required. An Ethernet card will be required if you would like to use an external modem.
- Optional devices: There are also some optional system capabilities you might want to consider. Expandable 3 slots / 4 bays (1 slots open / 1 bay open), sound cards and speakers are all optional.
It is important to note that TPG SOUL provides support for only the following systems: Win 98 Second Edition, 2000, ME and XP only.
The minimum TPG system requirements for an Apple Macintosh are:
- Power PC, Power Book, iMac or iBook (G3 or G4 strongly recommended)
- Operating System OS 8.1 or later
- Open Transport TCP/IP version 1.1.2 or later
- 12MB RAM (recommended)
- a CD-ROM drive
- Colour display (minimum 800 x 600 resolution x 256 colours)
- Free space on Hard Disk Drive – 16 MB
- a spare Ethernet interface
- sound card and speakers recommended
- Internet browser capable of supporting FTP (File Transport Protocol) such as Netscape Navigator 3 and above or Microsoft IE3
Please note that TPG SOUL does not support Apple Macintosh.
Also, please note that the systems mentioned are minimum requirements. You can of course have a system that is much more advanced than the components mentioned.
