Virgin’s mobile coverage within Australia is provided by the extensive Optus 3G/HSPA network. The large range of mobile broadband plans put together by Virgin means it has a specific plan to suit every possible situation, matching people’s different needs. You might want a fast downloading mobile broadband plan that can handle large files, videos from YouTube and music tracks from the latest albums, or you might only want to talk to friends on Facebook now and again as well as receive and send emails. No matter what your mobile internet needs are, big or small, Virgin will be certain to have a package to suit you.

The beauty of mobile broadband is that you are no longer trapped behind your desk, or confined to the house where there is a fixed telephone line to connect to your PC. You will at last enjoy freedom as you have never known it before. When travelling you can stay in contact with your business, friends or the latest news, no matter where you may be, as long as you are within range of the expansive Optus 3G network. You don’t need to know where all the internet ‘hot spots’ are around town. All  you need do is to take a seat on a park bench over looking a lake as still and reflective as a mirror, in the botanical gardens, start up your laptop, plug the modem into a USB port and the whole world is suddenly at your feet. You will be able to chat to friends, send and receive photos, check emails, browse the internet or finish off your work. You can do whatever you did on your PC, only this time it is you who decides where you are going to do it.

One of the Best Plans Offered by Virgin Mobile is its Mobile Broadband 14 GB BYO

This particular plan doesn’t require you to enter into a contract of any kind. All you need do is to pay $59 a month and in return Virgin will ensure you receive a mobile broadband connection. There is no set up fee to pay either. The only money you will be asked to pay will the monthly $59.00. This will give you a data allowance of  14 GB and a connection speed of 1.5 Mbps. In fact the Virgin Mobile broadband 14 GB BYO plan has six benefits that make it stand out from the crowd, these being:

  1. You can change plans whenever you see the need. If you find the data download restriction is too tight you are able to change to a plan with a larger downloading capacity. The same applies if you feel you have too much data allowance. If you discover you have much data download space left unused each month you are probably paying for a plan that is too large for your requirements. This means you will be wasting money unnecessarily, in which case you could downsize to a smaller, and cheaper plan.
  2. You will have large connectivity areas in which to pick up a signal. The Optus 3G (Dual Band) network is quite large. If you live in any of the Australian Capital cities, except Darwin, or in one of the bigger regional centres, you will most likely get a quite strong signal and therefore expect a quite high speed. If you live out is a rural area with little population around you, your broadband internet speed could be quite slow, or non-existent altogether. It will be up to you to make certain of your connection before you go ahead and make your purchase.
  3. Save a further $5 each month. If you decide to bundle this plan in with your home phone you can save yourself $5.00 each month.
  4. Walk away whenever you want. You don’t have to commit yourself to Virgin in any way what-so-ever. If you have no further need for the plan you can simply get up and walk away from it. You are under no contractual obligation in any way, manner or form.
  5. Ability to buy more data when needed. If you find you are only part way through a month and your remaining data allowance is getting low, you can always ‘top-up’ by buying more.
  6. No charges for excess usage. You can never be charged for excess usage because you can’t use any-more than what you have been allocated. When that runs out you will have to wait for the start of the next monthly billing period before it is automatically renewed. If you find you are running low you can always buy more data as you are going along.
