Compare Virgin Against Other Mobile Internet Providers To See If They Will Save You Money
There is a lot of competition taking place between the various Internet Service Providers (ISP) in bringing mobile internet to within reach of all Australians. Unfortunately it has still been hard to achieve reliable, fast internet service in rural areas. While people living in the main Australian cities have enjoyed fast efficient broadband internet for some time it has been their country cousins who have been missing out. The development of 2G, 3G and now 4G fast mobile internet broadband is changing all of this however. It has benefited people in urban areas as they are no longer office bound but can now take their work with them whenever they wish on their lap tops. Rural people are also benefiting as the reception areas widen and as they do they too can also share in fast broadband downloads.
In an effort to bring fast broadband internet to the bush the Australian government has embarked on a giant project rolling out fibre optic cable with the National Broadband Network (NBN). This will make a lot of difference when it is finished as it will give equal access to everybody for the first time. However, the NBN will still be fixed line internet and mobile access will still be required if you want to access the internet outside of your home or office work station.
The big ISPs such as Telstra, Optus and Virgin, among others, are in tight competition to deliver a fast, reliable mobile service and it is the consumer who winning out as a result. Virgin launched its mobile service in 2000 and since then has been offering a wide range of internet mobile broadband plans to fit in with all types of needs and situations. Its mobile coverage is quite extensive outside of metropolitan areas because it uses the Optus 3G/HSPA network. It doesn’t charge any excess fees either for data download usage exceeding your agreed limit. A good example of Virgin’s mobile broadband internet packages can be seen when you examine its home phone and broadband plan.
